These panels are made by hand by Alan, the owner of Ashcraft Framing. Each panel is made individually to your specification. The cradle is constructed in a similar method to our tray frames then the canvas is cut and fitted by hand before entering a vacuum bonding system where the canvas is securely pressure bonded to the top, sides and base ensuring a perfectly flat surface, sides and tightly sealed corner folds. The panels are stapled at the rear and taped for neatness.
Pure Belgian Linen and plain wood panels are also available. Please ask.
Canvas Covered Cradled Panels
39mm or 19mm deep cradled panels covered with high quality 12oz triple primed cotton canvas duck. The canvas is stretched over the panel and glued and bonded using a vacuum process to ensure a superior surface and corner finish. perfect for acrylic or oil painting.
The cradled panel surface is made of 2.5mm MDF and the frame is high quality obeche with glued and pinned corners and cross bracing where necessary.
